Web and Mobile Development

Our web development projects usually fall into one of these two scenarios, and many clients need both. We typically work on the Wordpress and Hubspot CMS but have extensive experience working with Shopify, Squarespace, Craft, and other content management systems.

For quick turnarounds, Unbounce or Instapage can be the fastest way to get to an answer.

Scenario 1: A CMS the Marketing Team Can’t Use
A great digital design agency just built your brand a new website. It looks great out of the box! But the marketing team wants to change some text and an image, but can’t figure out how to do it in the CMS. You ask your design agency. They do it easily, then send you a bill for their time. Wasn’t the marketing team supposed to be able to do that? It happens again, and again, and again.

We’ve worked on many projects like this where we complete very minor upgrades to the website itself, but perform complete rebuilds of the internal team functionality. We focus on usability and simplicity wherever possible so that the marketing team can make changes and updates to the website content on their own, easily. That’s what a CMS is for, after all.

Scenario 2: Fresh Redesign
Other projects involve websites that are built from scratch, sometimes for later-stage brands, but quite often for new, Seed-stage startups. Our process weaves all specialties of the Boston Growth Marketing team (design, development, SEO/content strategy, marketing operations, and demand generation) into a cohesive powerhouse of a website that is tuned for growth.

We know that you can’t act on what you can’t measure. Analytics capability, easy performance reporting, and marketing technology integration is a core tenet of our website development projects. These are not “features” to add on later. It’s important to view a proposed website development project holistically.

No website lives alone, yet many people find (see Scenario #1 above) that they end up with a website that is difficult to integrate with the rest of the business. This impacts, marketing, sales, business development, operations, content creators, people ops, and yes - your own development team that should be working on the product instead.

Marketing Technology integration

An effective website plays well with others. Others, in this case, means all of the supporting and complementary technology that underpins your business. In the current age, the transfer and integrity of data and events from one platform to another is highly important to the success of your brand. Measurement and analysis depend on the availability of data where and when you need it.

Even if the data exists in one platform but not another, you waste valuable time having your employees manually collect and synthesize data. In fact, this is one of the top 3 pain points we see across the board for new clients. Whether it is sending Zoom webinar attendance data back to Hubspot, or getting key product conversion events into Hubspot, data doesn’t just have to be available. Data needs to be clean and structured so that it stays trusted and actionable.

Conversion tracking and auditing

Accurately tracking conversions is a fundamental part of understanding your marketing funnel performance. Auditing your existing conversion tracking capability is a core part of every marketing project we work on.

It’s surprisingly difficult to keep conversion tracking accurate and under control. Many problems arise from improper implementation, poor or non-standardized taxonomy, and a messy database. We’ve unwound some of the messiest around.

landing page COnversion tools

There are many A/B testing tools out there: Unbounce, Optimizely, VWO, and hosts of others. Did you know there is a free option that works quite well for most startup needs? Most startups buy way more landing page conversion tech than they need. They do this with the best of intentions, but they don’t have the people or the infrastructure yet to realize any of the promised results.

We’ve helped many clients match the right marketing technology to their growth stage, making sure it can grow with them. Technology without an experienced pilot is fairly useless to most companies, big or small.
