User Research

The first step towards marketing performance is to understand and empathize with your users to solve their biggest problems.

Removing barriers

User research, as we employ it, is about empathy. Our goal is to understand users better, so we can align product benefits towards towards their real needs.

User research is about understanding conversion barriers and reasons why users won’t buy, sign up, download, call, or convert. The art of user research is in experience: formulating the right questions, knowing when to prod, and when to listen. Our researchers are professionals that have been doing this their entire careers. They’ve worked with some of the seminal businesses of our time in advancing user behavior studies.

types of user research

User research can be qualitative or quantitative in nature. We use both types for different reasons, in different situations, and with different goals.

Quantitative research often show you what is wrong, while qualitative research can be more useful to directing you to a solution.

Deliverables

The benefit of user research is that you get feedback, while the downside to many consulting research engagements is that you get feedback - often 100 pages or more of it. Where do you start?

Since we focus on one thing - removing barriers to conversion - we stay on target, delivering actionable insights that are prescriptive in nature, not opaque.

We never stop there.

moving from understanding to action

Projects fail by not moving from understanding to action. The next step after user research is conversion rate optimization. We approach CRO both from a proven strategic approach and a tactical, prescriptive method.

We don’t just tell you what’s wrong, we fix it through design. Then, we measure how well we did.
